Pet Licensing and Leash Laws

Did you know all Denver pets need a license?  You can easily apply for a Denver pet license online through the Denver Animal Shelter website.

Denver Animal Shelter

Your dog needs a license to be in any dog park.  The licensing program helps ensure that rabies and diseases do not spread through our parks.  The license number is also tied directly to you, so it can help your pet be returned to you if they get lost. Do your part and  license your dog!

In Denver, dogs must be leashed and under control of their owners at all times.

Denver’s leash laws are intended to protect the health and safety of both the people and pets who enjoy visiting Denver’s many parks and open areas. Be aware, you can be ticketed for this offense. The first violation is $80, the second is $150 and the third is $300.
